# Creating the Trend

Create a new trend in the Trends page by clicking the **Add** button at the bottom left of the Trends page to open the **Create New Trend **screen. Then fill in these details:

# Adding a Tag to the Trend

Tap :SettingsIcon: Settings icon at the top right to add tags to the trend. In the **Tags** tab, tap the **+** **Add** button at the bottom right to add new tags to the trend.

> ℹ️ The Tags tab is also where you configure the tag line settings. Tap the **+** **Add** button at the bottom right of this screen at any time to go to the **Add Tags** screen.

- Add sites to the chart by clicking into the sites field and selecting sites from the drop-down list. You can start typing the site name to filter the dropdown list.
- Add tags to the chart by clicking into the tags field and selecting tags from the dropdown list. You can start typing the tag name or the tag description to filter the list.

# Changing the Site Mappings

If you create a trend by importing a trend file or by copying an existing trend you will be prompted to change the site mappings.

> ℹ️ This is optional unless you have imported a trend file from another user and you do not have authority to view the sites in the imported trend file.

To remap the sites, enter new sites in the existing site fields (or delete sites you do not want to include). All the other properties of the trend will be copied including the tags and tag line properties.

# Set the Default Trend Preferences

Use the Preferences tab in the Trend settings to set:

- The default data sampling algorithm to use for trends.
- The default tag property to use as a map label for the tags.
